Fly Like Eagles, Fly with Eagles

My latest acrylic with gel medium so it is then classified as mixed media.
I really enjoyed painting this using gel medium and exploring with water using a mist bottle and dripping the acrylic on the panel and spraying water on it.  Since starting an art journal I have really enjoyed the friend of creating new techniques.
I actually gave this one to a friend who looked just like this lady.

Behind the Mask

Painting of a Peacock and a Lady in a Mask

This painting was inspired when I was working with Indian ink, giving a 3D feel to it.  I have always loved peacocks and their colours.  I could hear their “johaan” call as I progressed with this painting and remembered when going with my son when he was 3 to the MacDonald Farm, chatting to the male peacock there.  All the kids just loved it when I shouted “johaan” and he proceeded to answer me back and fanning his tail feathers to its fullest bloom.  Perhaps “Proud as a Peacock” should have been the name of this painting, but I could not make the girl look “proud”.

Behold, or the Bold and the Beautiful

So happy to say it has been named "Lion Within" as it has been donated to Southern Interior Rotary Lodge

in Kelowna funded by the Canadian CancerSociety http://www.cancer.ca/en/support-and-

Painting of the Lion and a Beautiful woman has many names.

This painting had many inspirations, words and thoughts that came to mind.  I first inspired by the words

“Behold”  There are many verses that came to mind when I started this painting. “Behold He comes”,

“Behold the Lamb”, or a song written by David Crowder and sung by the Newsboys “My God is not dead

He’s surely alive living on the inside roaring like a Lion”. Or 1 Peter 5:8 “Be self-controlled and alert.

Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour”.

Waves of Faith | Wave of God

Can you believe I added another account to my google and then deleted that account but it messed up my blogging account.  So I reinstated the new account which seemed to override all the accounts that I used initialing to start this blog.  Needless to say, I'm Back.

I have just received more revelation on a painting I did call it "Waves of Faith".  I am doing a course on "Theophostic Prayer" by Edward Smith http://www.theophostic.com/
It explains how our emotions expose our core belief, that is not a definition. How it is difficult to change the core beliefs we we obtained from experiential knowledge.  That is why our faith/belief is refined (tried) so that we are free of double thinking.  We cannot believe that God loves us when we believe there is something wrong with me!  So now read James 1:2-8

"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.  But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  But he must ask in faith without doubt, for the one  WHO DOUBTS IS LIKE SURF OF THE SEA DRIVEN AND TOSSED BY THE WIND."

Wave Of God

This prophetic painting was created as prophets were talking about the Tsunami the wave of God coming - a Revival.

Many years later I donated this painting to the Pregnancy Centre.

My Faith Journal

Here are some more examples of just "playing" with techniques, bearing in mind each page just happens there is no end result.  I hope my journal will be an inspiration to others to explore, to journey, to find healing, to enjoy.
"Healing Through The Arts can show you that life can be more, or in some way, better than before. True healing is not waiting for time to heal. It is creating opportunities where healing takes place, and the process of mending can make us stronger.
Through Art we gain a sense of life’s meaning. When we create art, we make something that did not exist before and can preserve it to enjoy. Our interaction with art provides a break from the pace of routine, where we can notice be unique. You do not need to be creative to participate, only a desire to learn and enjoy the adventure.” quote found at http://www.htta.org/about-us/art-healing

Golden Hands - Grow deep roots of faith

Afraid to Turn the Next Corner

“Deep roots anchor us with the truth that God is in control when surprises blow like strong, unruly winds.
Deep roots hold us steady in the peace of God during the storm that didn’t show up on the radar.
Deep roots find nourishment in God’s grace when the surface gets awfully dry.
Deep roots allow for growth of faith in God not previously possible.
I’m learning to not be so afraid of what might be around the next corner. Even if it does catch me off guard. I close my eyes and whisper to the Lord … deeper still.” written by http://lysaterkeurst.com/

This was made with paper mache and placed on limestone, hope this has as much meaning to you has it had for me which these words inspired.  Perhaps they mean differently.
